This past Saturday at the Avalon in Los Angeles, CA, Mika Newton got together with kids suffering from juvenile arthritis to enjoy a day of well-deserved indulgence. The Candyland-themed party featured celebrity guests Danica McKellar, Ali Simpson, Beverly D’Angelo and Mika’s personal favorite, actress Alyson Hannigan.

Bronkar Lee, the world’s first and foremost juggling beat-boxer, wowed audienceswith his up-tempomix of music, comedy, and sheer athleticism. The event was DJ’d by Kid Fish and Groovy David, named Best Kids DJ by Los Angeles Magazine. There was a chocolate fountain, a photo booth, balloon artists, and all proceeds went to the Juvenile Arthritis Association.

Did you know that one in 250 children suffers from juvenile arthritis? That’s more common than juvenile diabetes, cystic fibrosis, and muscular dystrophy put together. And yet, only a fraction of medical research is apportioned to the disease. The association is actively trying to raise public awareness, and couldn’t be happier to have generous souls like Mika lend a hand.

Some of these kids will never have the opportunity to live normal lives. At least with days like Saturday, they can forget their troubles for a little while. And just be kids.

Having spenta week traveling around Austria, Mika Newton stopped over in Porto Cero, Italy just in time to performat the opening ceremonies of the Dubois Yacht Cup.

This year marks the fourth official DuboisCup, which features 14 sailing yachts and two motor yachts in a race across international waters. The invitation-only competition combines racing and socializingwith a commitment to raising money for charity.

Like a fleet of Dubois-designed yachts, Mika draws attention wherevershe goes, and Porto Cervo was certainlyno exception. The exclusive seaside resort was bursting with excitement as Mika performed a number of songs from her upcoming album, due out this September.

After all the traveling though, Mika’s looking forward to returning to Los Angeles, where she has a number of acoustic shows already lined up. Talk about a work-a-holic!

The video was shot in Las Flores Canyon, in a house decorated withcrystals, children’s books, mirrors, and an array of musical instruments. Mika Newton wowed audiences again, this time at Hollywood’s famous Viper Room. After a string of acoustic performances around Los Angeles, Mika welcomed her new bandmates — Alex ‘Feather’ Akimov on guitar, Greg Garman on drums, Regina Zernay on bass, and Gabe Rudner on keyboard. Garmen was previously performing with Selena Gomez, while Zernay has toured with the likes of Cee Lo Green. The band is both energetic and mesmerizing, adding a new dimension to Mika’s talent. Together they performed a number of new songs from her upcoming album, and are expected to continue tearing up the Sunset Strip into the foreseeable future.

Mika Newton recently attended the American Idol semi-finale after being invited by judge Randy Jackson. Grammy award-winner and lone remaining member of the original American Idol judges, Jackson has been working with Mika for years now, and believes she’s going to be the next big thing on the pop music scene.

Mika was impressed with the trio of American Idol performers – Candice Glover, Angie Miller, and Kree Harrison – but was particularly taken aback by Glover’s rendition of West Side Story’s “Somewhere”.

Glover and Harrison will advance to the show’s finale, set to air next week.

Mika got the chance to hang out with Randy after the show. He passed on some sage advice about staying dedicated to the recording studio, as well as performing around Los Angeles. As always, Mika is thankful to be working with such a talented and experienced producer. With their powers combined, the sky’s the limit for Mika Newton!

The Hotel Café is widely recognized as one of LA’s premier venues for up-and-coming talent. It’s where singer-songwriter Meiko was first discovered, as well as Grammy award-winner Adele. Mika is gearing up to join them atop the charts with her latest album, schedule for release this September.

Also in attendance was the Irish singing duo of John and Edward Grimes, whom Mika met and became friends with at Eurovision. “Jedward” was impressed with Mika’s stage-presence and the bond she formed with her audience. Everyone seemed truly in a daze of a daydream – lulled to a place of self-reflection by Mika’s angelic voice and emotional range.

Mika has enjoyed her recent run of acoustic performances, citing the same bond that Jedward had admired. “It’s all about the audience,” she says. “If I can make them feel something, if I can make them think… then I’ve succeeded. Because music should always be about connecting with an emotion. Happiness. Sadness. Anger. Whatever it is, we’ve all felt it before.”

Mika Newton and representatives from JK Music Group recently stopped by the Musicians Institute in Hollywood to audition a host of young musicians. Candidates were afforded the chance to perform two songs alongside Mika – “Relapse” as well as “Come Out and Play.” Mika arranged the auditions in this personal manner in order to get a feel for how she artistically gelled with each candidate. Dozens of young hopefuls took the stage, and JK was truly impressed with the level of talent on display.

Mika is currently working on new lyrics as she prepares to shoot her next music video, “Come Out and Play.” In the meantime, you can catch her next acoustic performance May 1st at the Hotel Café in Hollywood.

Mika Newton performed her first acoustic show in Los Angeles at the Room 5, a lounge well- known for showcasing the hottest up-and-comers. An intimate group of guests – fans and friends gathered at the Hollywood hotspot for an evening of music from Mika’s upcoming album, as well as her two singles, “Don’t Dumb Me Down” and “Come Out and Play.” Mika also performed an inspirational cover of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep,” which garnered terrific applause from the audience.

Introducing the rest of Mika’s band: Alex Akimov – guitar, Phillip Meneses – guitar, and Ryan Orr – percussion.

Mika’s next acoustic showcase will be held on May 1st at the Hotel Café.

Mika Newton recently wrapped shooting on her latest music video “Magnets,” a song she co- wrote with Victoria Horn and Rune Westberg, who authored two of Mika’s other American singles, “Don’t Dumb Me Down” and “Come Out and Play.”

The video takes place in Malibu in a house with staggering views of Las Flores Canyon. Mika decided to shoot the video here because of the house’s incredible energy. The walls were decorated with fairy tale books, crystals, and rare musical instruments. The ambiance perfectly complemented the mood of “Magnets,” a romantic, powerful song in which Mika not only shows off her vocal range, but her emotional intensity.

Musician and actor Clayton Johnson, who happens to be a friend of Mika’s, plays her love interest in the video. Clayton is best known for co-authoring the song “I Wanna Love” (Released as “Ne Vіdpuskay” in Ukraine), as well as starring in another of Mika’s video for her first single- “Don’t Dumb Me Down,” which is available for download on iTunes.
